These silent VJ clips are slow-moving, high contrast video clips of a ceramic deer in some grass, intended for mixing together in live VJ performances. These clips are compressed with an Apple Motion JPEG A Codec, 320 x 240 resolution, 80% quality.
Only download the Quicktime.mov files - the rest are derivative files made by archive.org, and they aren't much use for VJ software. If you like these clips and use them in your live events, please leave a comment and say so! I also have a Facebook.

This is a growing genre among video artists using the medium for something other than a linear narrative. Perhaps you might react, like a screensaver, but this is just a taste of a larger piece that will be integrated with many other clips and set to music. 'Stella by Starlight' features visualization software synching up a sequence of loops siphoned from Ralph Steiner's aquatic morph-fest, 'H20' (1929), with this lovely interstellar version of 'Stella by Starlight' from the Frank Comstock's Project album, Music from Outer Space (1962). 'It's a Psych-Out!' Is an outlet for music videos that I have generated through the automated synchronization of databases of audio and video sources.

VJ Phi (Jen Rosselli) and VJ Mission perform live visuals at the Phoenix Landing in Cambridge, MA, USA. The technique shown in this piece involves a lightbox, video camera, video mixer, and mesh fabric.
Images of the mesh fabric being moved back and forth by hand over the lightbox are captured by the camera. The image is then sent to the video mixer, where a mirror effect is applied.
